Managing Director & CFO
Jennifer C. Zarrilli, Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer, joined First Reserve in 1998. Ms. Zarrilli has overall responsibility for all financial aspects of First Reserve and its funds including all aspects of financial reporting and for administrative aspects of the firm. Prior to joining First Reserve, she was a Financial Executive with Quadrant Management, a private equity firm, where she worked for six years. Prior to that time, she spent three years with Ernst & Young as an Accountant. Ms. Zarrilli holds a B.A. from Colgate University and an M.S. from New York University.

Anne E. Gold, Chief Compliance Officer and General Counsel, joined First Reserve in 2005. In addition to advising on legal issues involving First Reserve and its funds, Ms. Gold has overall responsibility for compliance functions. Prior to joining First Reserve, she was a Partner in the Transactions Practice Group at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP where she worked for almost 20 years, specializing in mergers and acquisitions and other commercial transactions. Ms. Gold holds a B.A. from Cornell University and a J.D. from the University of Michigan.

Catherine M. Magee
Head of Human ResourcesCatherine M. Magee, Head of Human Resources, joined First Reserve in 2013. Ms. Magee has overall responsibility for providing leadership on a wide range of Human Resources activities. Prior to joining First Reserve, she worked with Diamondback Capital Management, LLC, where she was the Director of Human Resources, Administration and Facilities. Prior to that, she held various human resources and project management positions at Purdue Pharma LP, Fordyce & Gabrielson, LLC, Oak Investment Partners, and TransCapital Corporation. Ms. Magee attended Peirce College and the University of Bridgeport.

Chief Technology Officer
Gregg R. Westgate, Chief Technology Officer, joined First Reserve in 2004. Mr. Westgate’s responsibilities include managing the firm’s information technology infrastructure, including global interoffice communications (email, video and telecom), data security, and infrastructure deployment and support. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was the Chief Technology Officer at Alpha Natural Resources, a coal company based in Virginia and a former First Reserve portfolio company. Prior to that, he was a Director of Integration for NST, a technology consulting firm, where he focused on consulting to the private equity industry. Mr. Westgate attended the Hart School of Music at the University of Hartford.

Patrick Carroll, Controller, Fund Accounting, joined First Reserve in 2011. Mr. Carroll is responsible for the financial aspects of First Reserve’s funds. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was a Senior Manager at Deloitte for nine years. Mr. Carroll holds a B.S. from Villanova University. He is a Certified Public Accountant.

Kathleen Mathes, Controller, Management Company Accounting, joined First Reserve in 2007. Ms. Mathes is responsible for the financial aspects of First Reserve’s management company. Prior to joining First Reserve, she worked as a Financial Manager at Bridgewater Associates Inc. for five years. Ms. Mathes holds a B.S. from Sacred Heart University.

Christopher Tracey, Controller, GP Accounting, joined First Reserve in 2008. Mr. Tracey is responsible for the financial aspects of First Reserve’s general partner. Prior to joining First Reserve, he worked at General Atlantic for eight years. Mr. Tracey holds a B.S. from Concordia College.

Director of Communications
Lauren M. De Paola, Director of Communications, joined First Reserve in 2005. Ms. De Paola works on corporate communications activity including media and public relations, limited partner and portfolio communications, events and speaking engagements, and portfolio / deal flow reporting. In addition, she coordinates First Reserve’s Environmental, Social, and Governance (“ESG”) initiatives and the Firm’s efforts to review best practices as it relates to Responsible Investment policies and procedures. She also supports the Firm’s Investment Committees and related communications. Prior to joining First Reserve, she was a Product Manager for MBI, Inc. Prior to that, she worked as the Creative Department Coordinator with the advertising agency Crispin Porter + Bogusky. Ms. De Paola holds an A.B. from Harvard University.

Robert J. Gallagher, Deputy General Counsel, joined First Reserve in 2008. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was a Corporate Associate with King & Spalding LLP. Prior to that, he worked in the Strategic Planning group of Sony Corporation of America as an Analyst. Mr. Gallagher holds a B.A. from Duke University and a J.D. from Duke University Law School.

Charles M. Moroni, Vice President, Co-Investment and Marketing, joined First Reserve in 2012. Mr. Moroni’s responsibilities include supporting the firm’s Limited Partner co-investment activities from inception to realization and marketing and investor relations. Prior to joining First Reserve, he was an Analyst at Mercury Capital Advisors. Mr. Moroni holds a B.A. from Skidmore College and an M.B.A. from the Johnson School of Management at Cornell University.

Jacqueline Prekelezaj, Senior Compliance Manager, joined First Reserve in 2012. Ms. Prekelezaj is responsible for managing the Firm’s corporate compliance policies. Prior to joining First Reserve, she was a Senior Associate in the Compliance Department at Arden Asset Management. Prior to that, she was a Corporate Paralegal at Schulte, Roth & Zabel. Ms. Prekelezaj holds a B.A. from New York University.

Leigh Butler, Legal Assistant, joined First Reserve in 1998. Ms. Butler’s responsibilities include support of First Reserve’s legal and compliance teams and management of the firm’s database of corporate information and legal documents. Prior to joining First Reserve, she was a legal assistant with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Ms. Butler graduated from the Legal Assistant program at Arapahoe Community College.
